The Popular Show Season Four Unveils the Soldiers Table

From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, demons, and dark forces increasing in power within the city.

Note: Spoilers for the third episode of the new season lie ahead.

The Warrior Group Unveiled

Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of characters who will split off from the main group to begin their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).

The Reason for Division

Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.

Hence, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.

The Nature of the Warrior Group

As described by the DM, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.

Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might look unsuited, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—used the foes for his own means, entering the secret base, striking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.

The antagonist then settled his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Cyd close behind.

Character Drivers

Additionally, each member has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires retribution.
  • The adventurer knows the region and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
  • Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
  • However, their position as key figures in the powerful family could assist the party reach areas they usually can’t.
  • Moreover, Teor vowed a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The warrior and The healer betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.

This means them few options but to head to Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.

What’s Next?

Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the remaining eight participants to round up the Explorers and Schemers tables.

Fans can look forward to finding out which characters will be where in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, released on the upcoming Thursday.
